Carbon and Plastic Offset Project Management

Carbon and Plastic Offset Project Management supports the end-to-end development, certification, and ongoing management of carbon and plastic offset projects under internationally recognised standards.

For carbon, the two dominant voluntary carbon market standards are Verra's Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) — which issues Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) — and the Gold Standard for the Global Goals — which issues Gold Standard Verified Emission Reductions (GSVERs). Both require projects to demonstrate additionality, permanence, and measurable, verifiable emission reductions or removals, with independent third-party validation and periodic verification by accredited Designated Operational Entities (DOEs). Project design must follow an approved methodology (e.g., Verra's VM0007 for REDD+, AMS-I.D for solar PV, ACM0002 for grid-connected renewable energy; Gold Standard's AMS series for energy access and clean cooking). For plastic, projects are aligned with Verra's Plastic Waste Reduction Standard or similar emerging frameworks. Without structured project management, projects risk methodology non-compliance, failed validation, delayed credit issuance, and reputational damage.

Our approach

A structured project management approach is applied across the full lifecycle of carbon and plastic offset projects — from feasibility and methodology selection through to validation, monitoring, verification, and credit issuance. The process is managed in compliance with Verra and Gold Standard procedural requirements, coordinating with accredited third-party DOEs at each validation and verification stage. Outputs are designed to produce high-quality, registry-listed credits that meet voluntary market and SBTi net zero usage criteria.

  • Conducting feasibility studies and methodology assessments to ensure project viability
  • Alignment with recognised standards such as Verra (VCS/Plastic Standard) or Gold Standard
  • Project Design Document (PDD) development in compliance with selected methodologies and additionality tests
  • Coordination with validation and verification bodies (DOEs) for registration and auditing
  • Development and implementation of Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) plans
  • Support through certification, credit issuance on registries, and ongoing project management

Outcomes

Registry-listed offset project validated under internationally recognised standards (Verra VCS/Plastic or Gold Standard)

Verified credits (VCUs, GSVERs, or Plastic Credits) issued on schedule per monitoring and verification cycles

Full compliance with standard methodology requirements, additionality criteria, and monitoring obligations

Credible, market-ready credits meeting quality criteria for voluntary market buyers and SBTi neutralisation use

Long-term project management framework sustaining credit generation, impact, and stakeholder co-benefits
