About the project
The proposal centers on a soil carbon regeneration project in India, aimed at addressing the challenges of land degradation and climate change impacts on agriculture. The project will focus on implementing improved agricultural land management (ALM) practices to increase soil organic carbon (SOC) content and improve overall soil health and fertility. It targets lands in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, covering a total area of 4020 hectares.
Through the adoption of ALM practices, such as minimal tillage, efficient water management, and crop residue incorporation, the project seeks to enhance carbon sequestration capabilities of cropland soils. This will not only help in reversing land degradation but also contribute to climate change mitigation by reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
This project is not yet implemented.
