Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)

CDP is the global environmental disclosure platform used by over 23,000 companies to report on climate change, water security, and forests — and scored by over 740 institutional investors and 330 major purchasing organisations through CDP Supply Chain.

The CDP Climate Change questionnaire (tracks C1–C15) requires detailed disclosure on governance, risks, strategy, emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3), targets, and verification. CDP Water Security (W tracks) and CDP Forests (F tracks) address sector-specific risks. Organisations are scored from D (disclosure) to A (leadership), with scores published and used by MSCI, Sustainalytics, and procurement teams to assess environmental performance. SEBI's BRSR Core identifies CDP as a recognised framework for voluntary environmental disclosure, and many CSRD reporters align CDP responses with ESRS data points. Without structured CDP preparation, organisations risk low scores that directly affect investor perceptions, supply chain inclusion, and ESG rating agency assessments.

Our approach

A structured CDP submission programme is designed around the specific questionnaire tracks relevant to the organisation — Climate Change (CC), Water Security (W), or Forests (F) — with responses optimised against CDP's published scoring methodology and leadership-level criteria. The process covers prior-year score analysis, gap identification, data collection and validation against GHG Protocol and TCFD requirements, and narrative development. Outputs are designed to maximise scoring performance, ensure disclosure accuracy, and support alignment with CSRD/ESRS data requirements.

  • Analysis of prior-year CDP scores and public disclosure positioning against sector peers
  • Detailed gap analysis against CDP scoring methodology across disclosure (D), awareness (C), management (B), and leadership (A) criteria
  • Data collection and validation for all quantitative CDP disclosures aligned with GHG Protocol and TCFD requirements
  • Drafting of CDP responses across applicable questionnaire sections (C1 governance, C2 risks, C3 targets, C4–C7 emissions, C9 verification, etc.)
  • Development of leadership-level narrative inputs covering scenario analysis, SBTi targets, and low-carbon transition plans
  • Review and optimisation of responses against prior-year scoring feedback and sector benchmarks
  • Final quality check, submission support, and post-submission debrief
